I have been a few days late with the rent. Is this proper cause for eviction?

Dear Copiague Tenant Being late isn't a distinct ground for an eviction proceeding. Not paying after a properly served written Rent Demand and certified mail letter informing the tenant the rent is late when five days after the rent due date, is a ground known as Nonpayment. Even then the landlord must go to Court. Even then the tenant may pay what is owed and save the tenancy.
