Can an attorney file for a dismal before their client accepts a settlement offer?

I was given an aggregate settlement amount and I wasn't sure I wanted to accept. My attorneys would not offer help when I asked questions and seemed bothered that I was taking my time in deciding. Often not even returning my calls. I found out that attorney filed the dismal of my case before I signed to settle. Can they do that?

Whoah. If you gave them authority, and they dismissed as part of a written agreement with opposing counsel, then there's nothing wrong. That's the only circumstance I can think of where it'd be ethical to dismiss before settling. If they settled without your consent, you may have standing to file a bar grievance with their state's bar association.
