More than likely you have the option to mail the ticket in early and pay a reduced fine and plead to a 2pt ticket. You can choose to do this or you can go in on your scheduled court date and try to negotiate the ticket down even further with the City Attorney. If you do not feel comfortable with either of these options, you can laways hire an attorney. It is often times cost prohibitive to hire an attorney for a traffic infraction case, but everyone's situation and circumstances are different. If you are willing to take the time, it is my recommendation that you go to Court and talk to the City Attorney and see if you can get it reduced to a 1 pt or even a 0 pt offense.
