What defense can be used to get out of a reckless driving ticket in MD?

I was given a ticket for reckless driving in MD in a walmart parking lot. The cop claims I was going to fast near a forklift driver, but its not true. I was in no way speeding, he didn’t have my speed listed and there was no accident or property damage.

Reckless driving requires that the police officer establish that you were operating your vehicle with a wanton or willful disregard for other people or property. It is often difficult for the police officer to prove this beyond a reasonable doubt. Many actions constitute negligence and not recklessness. Make sure you request a trial and not a waiver hearing. This is a 6 point ticket so you may want to consider hiring a lawyer.

Your odds of having this ticket reduced or eliminated will improve greatly if you hire a local attorney rather than trying to do this yourself.

How did the officer determine you were going too fast? Wanton disregardfor the safety of others in a private parking lot? Why is a forklift different than another vehicle? I'd fight it..........you probably need an attorney.
