Do I have the right to demand the whereabouts of my child when with Father for visitation?

I have physical custody of my daughter and we live near Boston, MA. Her father lives in NY state. He has visitation for holiday weeks and weekends. My daughter just told me that he will be working through her upcoming 10 day visit and that he has no plan for where she will be during this time. Obviously this is alarming to me. The drop off is tomorrow. I am wondering legally if I have the right to demand to know what he has planned and exactly where she will be (especially since she is going to be in another state) or is he allowed to do whatever he wants during his visitation time and I cannot stop him? I need to know my rights. Thank you.

It is not unreasonable to want to know what the child care plan is during the visit. Also, you should be able to have contact with the child- how old is the child? This is vital information to know as if the child is young and left alone, the DCF in New York could well be involved. Is this the first time the child has visited father out of state? When did you learn that the child may be home alone? You should have counsel representing you and you may need a Modification.

If it is not in the court order then he does not have to tell you. If you are concerned about the safety of the child, what are those concerns as this cuts both ways.
