Jut got 2nd speeding ticket as soon as i finished defensive drive course! should I fight for it ?

Last week I was heading to Austin and got speeding ticket + proof of insurance in Bastrop county (actually by the time I got caught by the officer I had an insurance but for some reason couldn't find it @ that moment, and also I told him I have had insurance then he said insurance part on my ticket will be dismiss if I could proof that I had an insurance on that day @court )anyway I ve also just finished defensive drive just because of my previous speeding ticket and now got another one ,I mean the one I got in Bastrop,Austin last week. just need your advice,because I don't want to see anything on my record ,just wanna keep it as clean as possible,how can you help me with my case ?any chance to be dismissed this case ?Do I have to go to Austin on the court day ? Serkan, since you have completed the defensive driving course you cannot take it again, UNLESS the court waives it and allows you to take it. You are better off asking for deferred adjudication and while on this probation SLOW DOWN. If you don't get in trouble and you pay the fine/fee the ticket will be dismissed. Also, if you can provide proof that you were insured on the day/time you were ticketed that ticket will be dismissed. You don't have to have an attorney for this, however you must appear on the day of if they tell you to. When you call ask about the ability to serve a deferred and then ask if you appear via mail. Know though that if you get on deferred and then get another speeding ticket you will be fined the full amount. Good luck.

Since you have already taken the Texas Defensive Driving course your best option is to show up on your court date and ask for a deferment. That is still available to you and will keep the ticket off your record as long as you do not receive another one during the probation period.
