Purchasing out-of-state properties to rent them out while you live in Florida (or any other state) is legal and you do not need a license to do so. You do not NEED to form a company (LLC or Corp) to do so either. However, forming a company to hold each property you purchase is a way to limit your personal liability while not putting all your eggs in one basket so-to-speak. You should consult with an attorney. Good Luck!
