Would this be ok?

Business Questions 2 views 1 answers
I asked my dad to watch my children while I work on my schedule night days. I dont Qualify for unemployment yet and my job is essential. Prior, my mother asked my children if they were being abused a couple weeks ago. They said no and my mother proceeded to tell them that they were being abused. My 8yr old said, when my dad came in the kitchen that she said they were being abused. My dad told my children it's not ok that their grandma said that. I know she's doing this because she seen my kids talking to their dad. ( she doesn't like him) but, that's still their dad and we have rights to parent. I have full custody of my Children. Me and the kids stay in our own place and dad have visitation. Would it still be ok to let my dad watch them? But, just document things and dates they go over there. I dont have nobody else to watch them. I confronted my mom about the situation ( I dont believe her, & know she said it but she's denying it) I'm uneasy about this. Should I hire an attorney? In case she continues to make accusations thats untrue. Until, the state opens back up. We have a babysitter but she's closed due to covid.

On what you've written, I see no problem with your allowing the children's father to have contact with the children, and the court granted him visitation anyway. You don't want to refuse those visits since that would put you in violation of the court order. It appears that he's not a threat to the children either (for example, he has abused them or others in the past), and it doesn't look like there's any evidence of abuse. That your mother doesn't like him doesn't matter. I would talk to your mother and ask for specifics about the abuse. Ask what she has seen and heard, and what evidence she knows of (bruises or something) that might show abuse. And if she doesn't respond with some really serious allegations and evidence to back them up, tell her that you could ultimately lose custody of the children if it's shown that their care providers are damaging their relationships with their father. And if it gets worse, simply stop taking the children to her house and keep them away from her. And if it continues, talk to an experienced child custody attorney.
