Change of address while EAD is in process

2 views 3 answers
I am planning to apply for an EAD card for my wife. Meanwhile I will be shifting to another apartment in month end. I learnt from websites that once I move to another apartment, I have to file AR-11 to update the address with USCIS. My question is 1. whether change of address will delay the ead application process as already the maximum processing time is 90 days? 2. Should i wait for another 20 days to file ead application from new address itself since i read in some cases ead processing even took another 3 months when address change did not reflect in the system and card gets redirected to USCIS from old address. 3. Can i use my office address to file her ead application? Thank you so much.

It should not affect the processing, but could affect the delivery.

You can use the office address for mail purposes. if you file from an address just continue to use that address if you can to avoid any delays.

Call the 800 # of USCIS to report the address change and they will get it to the EAD Section of USCIS. You can also go online to: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa Be sure to go to step 2 etc. and give them the case number for all cases you have pending such as I-485, I-765 (for your EAD) or whatever.
