Can one spouse ask for the equity back in a house?

If one spouse took out equity in the house several times to better themselves while the other spouse struggled to better themselves can the one spouse ask for that equity back when trying to get the house in the divorce?

If the house was the homestead then both spouses had to sign on the deed of trust. If one spouse truly did not benefit from the loan proceeds, this can be brought up in the final trial. Hopefully there is enough equity in the house to cover the amount you are seeking.
