I'm Sonia Matos, I will like to know the process on how to remove Confesor Torres from two home deeds that are under my name?

We signed permit to be married at Orange County on June 2016 and later married on June 16, 2016. Mr. Confesor Torres received the documents right there at the ceremony by Pastor Danny Mercado. A licensed priest which is allowed to marry in the state of Florida. When the wedding was over I asked him if we could go the next coming week to submit the documents to make it official. He agreed to do so but after 2 years things were not working out and I asked him for a divorce. I decided to send for the the marriage license because my lawyer asked me to send for it , which to my surprise, it was never submitted by Mr. Confesor Torres, license came back negative . He appears on both deeds but now it turns out that we are not legally married. I would like to know if you can provide me with legal representation. He is an aggressive man and also controlling. I had to file an injunction which had to remove because he threatens me to call the cops on me and put me in jail because he is an old person. I am scared and I know for a fact that he likes to control everything when they are not working the way he wants. I do not want to continue with this person.

You need a lawyer to sort this out: 1. You got a marriage license 2. you went through a wedding ceremony 3. You lived as man and wife and 4. someone failed to return the completed license form to the clerk? Are you married or not? That needs the attention to more facts and detail which cannot be handled here. There are a lot of good lawyers in Orlando ready to help you out. Go see one d

While Mr. Woodward pretty much nailed it, you want to realize that the problem is substantially different if you are married. Unfortunately, at a very basic level, if his name is on title the law presumes he owns it. Unless he is willing to do a quitclaim deed - you may be in for a fight. (AGAIN SPEAK TO A LAWYER TO UNDERSTAND THIS BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT THAT.) Post marriage, you may get away with using principals of "EQUITABLE DISTRIBUTION" to argue that this is really your property. These problems are really in need of a lawyers attention.
