Ex tenant trying to re enter home?

Im the new tenant of a property and the ex tenant moved out last month then i moved in. She just showed up claiming she for got stuff here inside the home and is trying to enter the home the police said theres nothing they can do. But isnt this against the law i mean she moved out and is trying to enter my home

She is a trespasser and has absolutely no right to enter your home. That's ridiculous that the police would say that. If she does try to return, tell her to work it out with the landlord. You may also want to consider changing the locks if there's any possibility that she still has a key.
