If a landlord requests a SECURITY deposit in addition to FIRST months rent and does not give the tenant a statement of condition or information where your security deposit is then refuses to give you back your security ... after giving 30 day notice on a month to month tenancy, landlord said I caused a crack in the window that was pre existing. Landlord also never gave me any interest on my security deposit for a total of four (4) years after requesting the account info in an e mail to where she had my money. I gave her my own statement of condition when I moved in through her mailbox but she never responded.. I HAVE COPIES>

It sounds as if your landlord has pretty clearly violated MGL c. 186 s. 15B which governs how security deposits are to be taken, held, and used it needed. He may already be liable for you for 3x the deposit plus 3x the interest due, plus attorneys fees. Contact a lawyer immediately to send a demand to your landlord. These types of cases can often be taken on contingency, meaning your lawyer will recover from what you recover, and you won't need to pay upfront.
