My mom who lives in California has my emotional support dog. She will not return the dog to me. The dog has a microchip which is registered in my name. I am currently in Missouri. What can I do to get my dog returned to me.
I have to wonder why your medically-necessary ESA is not with you at all times. You can ask, beg, plead, cry, and offer to pay for shipping or to come and pick it up yourself. If that doesn't work, you can file a lawsuit for "replevin" in the county in which the dog currently is.
Or you can just get a new ESA to replace the one that you abandoned.
