How do I begin the process of returning to court to request early termination for my First Offender Felony probation?

On March 7th, 2019, I plead guilty to 1 count of F’ Entering an Automobile, 1 count of F’ Theft by Taking, 1 count of M’ Obstruction of a LEO, and 1 count of M’ Theft by Shoplifting. I was arrested in August of 2017. After over 2 months of sitting in the county jail I got a bond and was released. Once on bond I completed a welding program and earned several certifications, I separated myself from all old friends and placed myself into a mental facility for 10 days to get the proper medication for my anxiety and depression. Once taking my sentence in early 2019 of 5 years FO probation, I joined a program for people with background barriers and graduated the top of my group. I paid off my misdemeanor probation ($3000), I finished DUI school from a DUI I received several years before and re instated my license ($750ish). I have received 4 promotions at my job (A large event center),I am now a manager. I own my car, I have my own apartment; I’m a ambassador for the program I completed, I was the keynote speaker at the last graduation and I have never missed a meeting/failed a drug test. I have not been arrested in over 3 1/2 years. I have tons of great references to vouch. Can you help?

Asking for probation to terminate just shy of two years into a five year sentence may be tough, although it sounds as though you’ve made enormous strides and I commend you for that. If you have the resources I suggest hiring an attorney to file a motion to terminate early. It will be much easier if probation recommends it as well. It certainly can’t hurt to try, since the worst case scenario is the Court not agreeing.
