I have one felony obtaining property by false pretense and 1 felony uttering a forged instrument. I cashed a check worth about 210$ at a gas station not knowing that it was a forged check. I recieved it from a fried of a friend who paid me with this check for doing service to his car. He said that he owned a business and that the check was from this business that he owned. This happened in 2008 and i have no clue of the guys name or where he lived. Just curious on if this could be thrown out or lessened to reduce the charges. My record is decent with only a communicating threats charge which was successfully mediated in 2010. Some insight would be helpful.

You need speak to attorney about this matter. You should not discuss the facts of a criminal matter on a public forum like . Even if all the facts supported your innocence, you are giving away the only thing you have which is your side of the story. Uttering a forged instrument is a class I felony and obtaining propery by false pretense is a class H felony. Class I felonies carry maximum punishment of 15 months and class H felonies carry a maximum punishment of 30 months. Your prior record level will determine the maximum punishment that you may be facing. My best advise is to stop talking about your case online and speak with an attorney. Good luck with everything.
