Check with your lawyer, if you have one, or check with whomever you hired to serve the summons. You may have paid a fee to the sheriff when you filed. If you did not, then you need to hire a process server to get the job done. This response does not create an attorney-client relationship. Unless you are already a client of the Mallory Law Group, pursuant to an executed employment agreement, you should not use, interpret, or rely on this response as legal advice or opinion. Do not act on any information in this response without seeking legal advice. Earl K. Mallory [email protected] (561)743-3708.

Who ever received the process, the summons and complaint, should be able to tell you whether the other party was served. In Ft. Lauderale, we are allowed to use private process servers to serve defendants. This way I can have answers directly from the individuals I have hired to perform the service. If you have an attorney, follow up with them to find out the status, they sould be able to check with the Sheriff or Private process server.
