I’d like to start selling homemade candles. Where should I start to make it legal?

I want to sell candles I make at home for a little extra income. I don’t know if I need an LLC and I’m not sure what licenses I would need to start.

To limit business liabilities, yes you should consider forming a business entity, of which LLC is one type, and consider what licenses and insurance you may need. But additionally, you should consider protecting your intellectual property, be prepared with any articles, bylaws, contracts. Map out your business model and then consult an attorney to help you get started.

You should have a business entity, and you should consider a trademark for your brand. Here's a recent similar Q&A: https://www.attorneyqna.com/legal-answers/authorized/how-can-i-protect-myself-and-my-business-from-liab-5086750.html
