Unlicensed Operator in NY while license in NJ suspended. subsection 5091 of NY V and T Law

I have a suspended driver license in NJ and was stopped in NY. I received a ticket for Unlicensed Operation of vehicle under subsection 5091. This was only marked off as a Traffic Violation and not as misdemeanor on the ticket. Could someone tell me where I can find the releant section of the NY traffic law so that I could find out the penalties for this offense. Also what consequences would a plea of guilty to the NY offense have on my already suspended license in NJ.....could the courts in NJ or the DMV impose additional time of suspension for my ticket in NY???? thank you for your time

This ticket is a violation, not a crime. It carries about a $100 to $150 fine in New York. You are actually lucky. The officer could have charged with a misdemeanor known as Aggravated Unlicensed. As a New York attorney, I don't know much about New Jersey law but suggest you consult with a New Jersey attorney about this matter and about clearing your NJ suspension.
