Expunge a class 1 misdemeanor child endangerment conviction?
Anonymous5 views1 answers
I had a class 1 misdemeanor child endangerment conviction in 2004 where I was fined and paid $360.00.
This was my first offense other than minor traffic violations. I have not ever offended since. I am a good person and I have had trouble obtaining employment because of this. I also wish to pursue my masters in higher education but I fear that this criminal record will prevent my admission to any programs.
Is it possible to get this expunged? What about sealing of records? What is the difference?
It is possible that Child Endangerment in Ohio can be Expunged. But, it depends. There are nuances to trying to expunge a Child Endangerment charge in Ohio. And the law keeps getting tougher. So, you would be smart to try to get it expunged now, if you can. Because the state of the law could change in the future--which would probably only make it more difficult to expunge, if it is even possible.
Your best bet would be to contact an Ohio Criminal Defense Attorney, and get a consultation to find out if based on the facts of your case, your conviction could be expunged.
