I got a ticket in 2011 for speeding I went to court and fought it, I lost but they reduced the fine and I paid it and left.

I have renewed my license since then, I have insurance I pay for every month, I don't have any other tickets in the 30 years I've lived here. I went to get my license renewed and they now say I'm suspended over the ticket I got in 2011. So I got an ID because I had to have it, and figured I would take care of it in a couple of weeks when this lock down stopped. Well the lock down has never stopped. I got my driving record and it says failure to comply or pay the ticket. I can't prove it I don't even have the receipt after all these years and I'm now on S.S. and don't have the money to pay it again. Can they suspend me like that. I thought they passed a law so they can't do that. I will pay the 75.00 fee for reinstatement but can't afford the ticket, any advice on how to clean this up and get my license back? Thank you so much.

The only basis to avoid the suspension would be to prove that you paid the reduced fine. Given that it is nine years old you likely don't have access to banking records that go back that far. If you have hard copies of bank statements showing the check used to pay the fine that would likely be sufficient to get a court to recind the suspension. You should get the advice of an attorney who handles traffic violations. If you contact the Oregon State Bar you may get a referral to an attorney who can advise you more specifically. The fee is $35. If you are unable to afford that, the Bar has a modest means program. I wish you all the best, Randy
