How can I locate a federal inmate showing not in bop custody?
Anonymous5 views2 answers
The BOP takes a long time to get people where they are going. He could be in Oklahoma City, which is a transit hub, or in any holding facility on the way to where he is going. It could take several weeks for him to get to his designation and he will not show up on the BOP inmate locator until he gets to his final destination. There is no way to find him until then.

It may take a while, even a month, to be designated to a specific BOP facility after sentencing, and even more time after that to get to that facility. The person will not show up in the BOP locator until he has gotten there. Until then, the US Marshals is your best bet to locate him.
