What is the likely outcome of trying to get a second re referral for DUI classes in Oregon?

Please don’t say you need to hire a lawyer, I am just wondering if anyone has had experience with this in Oregon? I live out of state and wrote down the 30th of may when I was supposed to attend the 26th. It was an honest mistake. I was able to get my first referral via email from the judge since I live in a different state. I am going to email the court again on Monday and hope they grant me another re referral and waive my appearance in Oregon. Any help is appreciated.

If I had a serious plumbing issue at my home that I’d tried to address twice on my own and failed, I’d hire a plumber to come fix it. Likewise, you are in way over your head and the court may see your request for a third referral for alcohol and drug treatment as strong evidence you are actively using alcohol or drugs. Case law specifically suggests that criminal defendants struggling with substance abuse frequently miss court obligations, see Sexson v. Merten. In any event, whether you’re using or not, your first step is to work on time management skills like setting your smartphone calendar with alerts so you don’t miss more important court appointments and deadlines. Then, in the application to the court asking for another referral, your lawyer can explain those steps to the court, so the judge will understand steps have been taken so this won’t happen again. Yes, you need a lawyer, if for no other reason than to signify to the court that you’re taking the criminal prosecution against you seriously.
