How can I fight this, or at least get out of the speeding ticket?

2 views 3 answers
I was following my friend home in a 30 mph no passing zone. He passed another car and so I followed him. One cop and one sheriff were sitting in a parking lot and pulled us over. The sheriff pulled me. He didn’t have my speed but his partner got my friends speed (62). He gave me a speeding ticket as well as unlawful passing ticket. My friend only got a speeding ticket.

Use the Find a Lawyer tab, search for traffic ticket or criminal defense lawyers in your area, contact a few to discuss your case and options, and then if you want to hire a lawyer, then hire the one with whom you are most comfortable. Normally, your best bet is to fight the ticket or get out of it as you indicate is to hire a traffic ticket lawyer to represent you.

Prior post is incorrect and misleading and should be discounted. If I were helping you with this, initially I'd confer privately with you, in the Attorney-Client relationship, and I tell my clients exactly what I think they ought to do, what seems wisest and 'best' for the situation. Do beware all 'free advice' particularly as to your issues.

This isn’t going to happen representing yourself. Get an attorney is you’re serious about trying to get out the tickets.
