If the officer wrote the incorrect location as to where i got pulled over is that grounds for getting a ticket dismissed?

i was first of all pulled over after i got out of my vehicle (and then told to get back in my car) because my break lights were out, well that's what the cop said anyway. once i showed him they were working he still asked for my information. i do have a suspended drivers license so i received a citation for that. on the citation he put down the location as to where he saw me first but not where i was "pulled over". would be considered a technicality? he also gave me a written warning for my brake lens being broken. so i received a citation and warning all for things i was not originally pulled over for. because the cop was wrong for pulling me over anyway why and how is that he can continue to find things to cite me for?

The location of the stop is not relevant. The location where he first observed you is the location where the vehicle code violation, Driving Under Suspension occurred. Therefore, this would not result in a dismissal. As far as the legality of the stop: If the officer reasonably believed that your brake lights were not functioning properly, he did have probable cause to stop your vehicle. Thereafter, he had the right to confirm your identity. Although you could raise the issue of probable cause to stop as a means of suppressing evidence that followed thereafter, it is not likely to be successful. If this is a your 6th or subsequent DUS citation, you face a mandatory period of incarceration of 30 days. However, Dauphin County does permit house arrest. if this is a violation of Section 1543(b), there is a 60 day period of incarceration required. If this is a your first 1543(a) citation, many officers are willing to change the charge to 1501 (Driving without a license) to help you avoid additional suspension. Good luck.
