My grandson lives in Louisiana whom I haven't seen in five years because the mother other family members refuse to allow me to visit with my grandson. All I would like to do is get to know my grandson and spend time with him.
Actually, your issue is grandparent access. Because the child is a Louisiana resident, the laws of that state apply. You need to find a lawyer in LA practicing family law and ask that question.

I assume the age of majority in LA is around 18. He can contact you after he is a legal adult. And you can certainly contact him. Then it would be up to him if he has any sort of relationship with you.
