I quit an employer and they accepted my notice to go to a better paying job (only parttime at new employer) due to the economy my hours as a parttime employee was reduced. I was told by the unemployment office that if I only worked 16 hours or less for a week and was able to file unemployment benefits to supplement my income. When I applied for unemployment benefits, I was told the company responded "a potential mutualization", what does that mean to my unemployment benefits. I am an Ohio resident.

In most cases, the Company's response indicates that the reduction of your hours was based upon mutual agreement between you and the employer to reduce your hours. It appears they are attempting to indicate that you are not entitled to unemployment compensation because they have indicated that your decrease in work hours was due to your desire to reduce hours.
