How can I have my baby father put on supervised visitation rather than just standard visitation

Child Custody 7 views 1 answers
My baby dad is not on the birth certificate and he only came to see my daughter two times. He sells and smokes marijuana he claims he stopped bu I'm unsure. He was physically and verbally abusive we were never married. He told me he's taking me to court for full custody but I don't feel comfortable leaving my daughter with him due to the abuse and drugs. I have no problem with him seeing her in a public place with me or my parent there..never at his house. Can I get that supervised visitation and what is the possibility he gets full or shared custody? Thank u columbus ohio

Without court orders mandating that you provide parenting time to the father, you are not obligated to permit him to take your daughter. However, if the case finds its way to court (which these types of cases usually do), one of the factors the court may consider is whether you or he is more likely to comply with court-ordered parenting time and not providing him with any parenting time now may be used against you. Therefore, time is of the essence. You should speak with an attorney familar in your jurisdiction with family law issues.
