My apartment is roach infested
I moved into my apartments 8/20/2011 and paid prorated amount from August to September and have September free. As soon as I moved in I seen one or two roaches and put it on my inventory sheet. The apartment manger stated she would put me down to spray every week on Friday. One week after I moved in I noticed more and more roaches so I called the office again and she stated the neighbors next to me moved out and that is probably where they came from. So she sprayed that Friday to. Well after that I was infested. I called the apartment manager and she stated that the apartment adjacent to me just moved out and they were infested and that is where my roach problem was. So now there are Roaches in my brand new couches, TV microwave I couldn’t cook or sleep because roaches were crawling on me and my two children at night. I went in on a Saturday and told the manager that they owe me a brand new TV and microwave showed her video of how bad it was. She called the other manager and she said that she could move me to another two bedroom on the first floor and that I could be moved in one week brand new carpet and one month free rent! I said and what about my furniture? It is infested and if I move it into the new apartment I will just be moving them in there. SO I called her on Monday spoke to the actual manager ask to please just let me out of lease. I cant return the furniture$2000.00 brand new that I am renting to get new furniture to move into the new apartment and she stated she would call her supervisor and the main guy in pest control. Then on Tuesday I called her and she stated that they were going to spray heavily that day and I told her the treatments are ineffective and she stated she did not know how bad it was until the other tenant moved out and that they already leased the apartment they offered me. And So I would have to work with them and just be patient. I am stuck between a rock and roaches!!!! I am not going to stay there and will break my lease but what else is there to do since they did not fully accommodate me and then turned around took it back? It is more of an inconvience for me than them.
