Asylum Question: I would like to file asylum while in OPT. I missed one year deadline but have a compelling reason for that

My question is, If I was F-1 and denied, I would come back to my status without having to go to court. If I am in OPT what happens? Can I ask the court if I am not granted my immigration? Please advice. Thankyou

you would never lose your f1 status if you did nothing without the uscis authorization. since you after the one eyar deadline then you definetely need to see a lawyer your will entangle yourself forever.

You would lose your F-1 status if you do not continue your studies. If you are on OPT, your F-1 status ends 60 days after the expiration of the OPT.
