Can a teen get married in Kansas without parental consent? My girlfriend is 16. and we plan on getting married within a couple months after she turns 17. Is there any way to get married without parental consent? Her mother keeps saying that she will sign a consent to marriage form, however she has yet to do so. After we are married, if all goes as planned, can we have sex without me gettin in trouble? Since she would technically be emancipated by marriage and therefore an adult. Her getting pregnant isn't an issue, since i wont have sex with her until we are married

In Kansas you can get married at 16 or 17 if one parent consents and the district judge consents. Otherwise the only way to get married is to have the 16 or 17 yr old emancipated by the district court. To be emancipated there has to be a showing that the 16 or 17 year old does not need the support of the parents any longer.
