I was convicted of Facilitating Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd about a year ago and recently got a letter from my insurance company saying they can no longer cover me. I did not know my license was suspended when I got the ticket (It was suspended due to an unpaid ticket I thought was taken care of) and paid all of my fines in court, pleading guilty to the offense. I was told the charge carried no points (which it doesn't) and would have no repercussions since I paid all of the fines in court. Now I am without insurance and unable to find any decent company to insure me. What are my options? Is there even the slightest chance the DMV will remove the charge from my record (unlikely I know).

I am surprised to hear that you are having this problem because Facilitating aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree is a traffic infraction and not a crime. The only thing I can suggest is contact your attorney about making a motion to vacate the plea and re-plead the something else. You or your attorney could ask DMV is a VTL 509.1 would cause you this problem - it is basically the same thing but with lower fines.

I think you have a fairly good basis to make a motion to withdraw your plea. If your lawyer reaches out to the DA's Office and explains your situation, they may even consent to your doing so. I would reach out to several insurance companies to make sure that this will help you before you head down this path.
