I was recently charged with an OVI and they took my photo ID. I haven't gone to court yet and even was given full privileges by the court. I need a photo I'D for my job and i do not have a passport. How can I get another ID and not forfit my drivers license?

Do you have an attorney yet? If so, your OVI attorney should be able to tell you the steps to get this done. You will need to find out whether your ALS suspension shows up in the BMV database. If it does, ask for a temporary state identification card. If the suspension does not show up yet, your attorney will need to contact the BMV for you, and ask them to put your ALS suspension in the computer, so that you can get your TEMPORARY state I.D. card. If you don't have an OVI defense attorney yet, feel free to contact my office for more specific directions. Attorney Mark A. Deters Deters Law LLC www.TheDaytonDuiAttorney.com 937-224-1100

As Attorney Deters indicates, you need a TEMPORARY state ID and NOT a permanent state ID, because this will cancel out your right to drive in Ohio! You really should have an attorney tackle this problem because of the strong possibility that you will goof it up on your own (or not realize it when the BMV goofs it up). Dan J. Get an Attorney on board--depending on the circumstances--have them assess how strong the case is by thenState, and whether it's beatable--because unless the case is flawed, my colleagues are correct--getting the "State ID" revokes your license. Good Luck.
