Hi I want to know whether I can attend first time L1A stamping in Canada or not. I have done my masters in US and my employer applied for L1A visa staus (I already have one year of working experience with the same employer before I came to US for Masters Degree) and got approved this feb 2011. Can you please advice is it safe to attend first time L1A stamping in Canada? Thanks.

Mr. Shusterman is correct. Most first-time visa applicants apply for the L1A through the US Consulate in their home country. If you are not a Canadian citizen, and the US Consulate will not entertain your application, you will probably not be able to return to the US. In all likelihood, your employer retained an attorney to assist with the L1A visa. Speak with the attorney. Good luck!

I agree with my colleagues. If you are not Canadian or a landed immigrant, you will need to process in your home country.
