I need to get a certified court disposition for my husband on a case from years ago. The clerk said that I cannot get it.

He needs to write a letter saying it's ok for me to get the records. He is in jail. Can I just get a regular disposition without him having to sign anything?

If you need a certified copy, then you should not waste time trying to get something else. You should either get a notarized authorization from your husband or contact his prior attorney. The attorney of record for your husband's case can retrieve a copy of the certificate of disposition. Good luck.

Only an attorney or the person whose record it is can get a certified copy of the Certificate of Disposition. Your husband can authorize you to get it on his behalf via letter. Those are the only options.

Only the defendant or the attorney of record can obtain a certificate of disposition from the court. Reach out to his attorney and ask him/her to obtain it for you or alternatively have your husband provide you with a notarized letter describing this that he is incarcerated and authorizing you to obtain the certificate. Good Luck.
