My father was granted asylum that's how i got asylum too, i enter in the us in 2005. in january 2009 i applied for adjustmen of status got approved in june 2009 got my green card on that month category on card is AS8 card has resident since 6/8/2008. Back on 2010 I thought that card had a printing error on resident since date, so i sent the card back with i-90 form 10 months later got a new card but had the same date as resident since 2008 did the 8 CFR 209.2 apply to me? Is that why my residency date is 2008 and not 2009 the year that was approved

Yes, your adjustment was dated back to the date of your asylum approval per Section 8CFR209.2 which states: "If the application is approved, the district director shall record the alien's admission for lawful permanent residence as of the date one year before the date of the approval of the applicaion.."

I agree with my colleague. There is a regualtion that providing for predating on asylum based LPR to the earlier date.
