I received a $100 ticket for jumping a MTA turnstile. The officer who took down my information misspelled my name on the ticket, wrote down my phone number incorrectly, and did not write down my full address. In fact, most of the information he recorded on my copy of the ticket is incorrect as that I did not have an ID with me and he took my information down verbatim. Will a warrant be put out if I do not pay this ticket?

A warrant will be issued. If, however, the pedigree information on the summons is incorrect the warrant that will be issued won't be for you. Don't be too certain though that the officer didn't get down proper identifiers.

You should keep facts to a minimum over the Internet. A warrant will be ordered of there is a failure to appear but it is questionable as to whether they can successfully act on it. Good luck.

You are lucky the police didn't arrest you and charge you criminally. I'm not sure a warrant can be issued because the Transit Adjudication Bureau is civil, not criminal. I suspect the TAB can enter a money judgment against you for $150 - $100 for the summons and a $50 non-appearance fee per its Rules. It's probably better to pay the summons rather than having a judgment issued, which can affect your credit rating.

There may be a warrant issued but if you were not fingerprinted, it will be difficult for them to track you down. That being said, if it catches up to you, it will cost you more than $100 to straighten it out. If you miss work b/c they catch the warrant, you could lose your job which is worth more than $100.
