I'm a 17 year old in Connecticut, what legal actions can my parents take if I move out of their house right now?

I will be turning 18 on July 6. I have a friend whose family will let me stay at their house until graduation. I have a job. I'm a good student, I've never gotten in trouble at school or anywhere else. I wan't to move out of my parents house because they aren't emotional supportive. I feel emotionally neglected. My parents make it hard for me to stay, I've become depressed trying to talk to them. I want to find out if my friend's family can get in trouble if they take me in. I have read somewhere online that if you're 16 or over you don't have to live in your parent's home. I don't want my parents to get in trouble because I have a younger brother and I don't want him to be ashamed of himself because his parents got in trouble with the law. Can someone please give me some answers?
I'm sorry to hear of your troubles at home. I would urge you to see your school guidance counselor to discuss the matter or get a referral from him/her for a support network for teens in your area. Without knowing more about your personal situation, I'm concerned that any information you receive on this site might make your situation worse, not better. Good luck to you.

I agree that you really need to speak to a school guidance counselor or social worker. This site, while well intentioned, may mislead you if the entire situation isn't completely clear.
I will point out that you are still a minor and you could be getting both yourself and your parents in trouble by moving out. Speak to someone you trust who can give you clear guidance. Maybe they can even suggest someone for you and your parents to talk to.
