Careless is a 2 point moving violation. The other is a speeding ticket, as my colleague mentioned, and is the same fine violation as speeding 1-9mph over the speed limit and which I believe is 81 dollars. You need an attorney. Call my office for more advice 609-390-8888

Attorney Mendelsohn is correct. The cited references do not appear to match the infractions you have listed. 19:9-1.2 is speeding in a Construction Zone or 65 MPH Zone and is equivocal to N.J.S.A. 39:4-98. I suspect you are looking at some hefty fines and 6 points on your license. I don't recommend trying to go this alone in court - especially if there was property damage. The state doesn't like it when you break their stuff.

NJ has a seperate citation system for the turnpike. Troopers use it about 1/2 the time. 19:9-1.17 is careless and has the same points, 2 as 39:4-97. !9:1-2 is speeding over 65. I think that may be 2 points only or it may go by the title 39 system 1-14=2points, 15-29=4 over 29=5.
