Hi,
Approx 6PM today I was driving down a road in Beaverton Oregon with my wife. Then suddenly light flashed and I immediately noticed that I got captured by photo radar. Upon the first flash I hit the brake then the second flash kicked in to get the license plate.
The speed limit was 30mph and I was about 40mph. The flashes came from a police van equiped with photo radar device.
Anyway, what happened is happened, so I am expecting to get a ticket. All my concern is the driving history that will be remained in my license and increase in the insurance premium. This will be the very first time speeding ticket in my life. Is there a way to prevent the ticket to be remained in my record?
You may qualify for Beaverton's diversion program. To get into that program, you have to plead guilty, attend a traffic safety school and pay a fine. Completing the diversion program will keep the ticket off your record but will prevent you from entering any other diversion program for the next few years.
Because it would prevent you from entering any other diversion programs it would behoove you to have an attorney review your case to see if you can beat the ticket rather than entering the diversion. The photo radar program is very technical and tickets can be defeated if the City fails to follow all the requirements.
Most attorneys, including myself, would charge you more in fees than the diversion costs. However, if you can preserve your eligibility for other diversion programs by defeating this ticket, it would be well worth the cost.

The only thing I would add to the other answer is to stop talking about the ticket, especially on the internet. The Beaverton program is a good one, hard to beat a guaranteed dismissal!
