The person in question has a bad record and is currently on probation and has other felonys like 2 felonys such as stolen firearm and also has like 18 misdemenors and 2 counts of driving on revoked licence and out running the law etc.................he hasnt been convicted for anything yet.....but will be soon. But with all his pending charges and these new 2 felonys.......the felonys of stolen goods and the Obtaining property by false pretenses class C felony would this bring prison time? i am thinking it would. But dont know how much prison time ......

If the Obtaining Property by False Pretenses is a Class C (for property worth $100,000 or more) and the defendant has a clean record, the potential punishment is as much as 92 months (7 years, 8 months) minimum to 129 months maximum (10 years, 9 months). It could be as little as 44 month (3 years, 8 months) minimum to 62 months (5 years, 2 months) maximum. Felony Possession of Stolen Goods is a Class H felony, not a Class C. For someone with a clean record, the conviction could carry as much as 8 months minimum to 19 months maximum or as little as 4 months minimum to 14 months maximum. Prison time is not required for the Possession of Stolen Goods, however. My guess is that the cases will be combined for sentencing if he is convicted and he will serve time for only one Class C sentence. The defendant is facing very serious charges and would benefit from the advice of an experienced criminal defense attorney. I urge him to contact someone as soon as possible for advice specific to his case. For more information about defending agains serious felony charges, click on this link:
