A domestic abuse adder means the disorderly conduct resulted from an incident with a family member or someone who is/was your significant other.
If you are convicted of a criminal disorderly conduct charge with this adder, you will never be able to possess a firearm ever again. This may be problematic if you have military aspirations, like to hunt, etc.
For more specifc information, contact a local, experienced criminal defense attorney.
Good luck!
In addition to Attorney Missimer's answer above, I would note that the allegations must (if properly challenged) assert that you either intentionally caused another pain, sexually assaulted another, or engaged in a physical act that could cause another to reasonably fear imminent intentional infliction of pain, injury, illness, impairment of a physical condition or sexual assault. The key to the domestic abuse enhancer is that there was a physical act which reasonably threatened the injuries listed above.
Unfortunately this enhancer iis often improperly charged whenever a person is arrested for being drunken and loud or merely verbally threatening around relatives, roommates or romantic partners. It would be wife to have an attorney file a motion to dismiss that portion of the complaint as being insufficiently charged soon after the initial appearance if you have been improperly charged.
