Visitor visa, crosing mexican border to renew I-94 ?

My mom is having a visitor visa. her visa stamps still valid for 5 years from now. Her I-94 is due to expire in 2 weeks. Can I cross the Mexican border such as in Nogales to get new I-94 ? When I cross the border from USA to Mexico, how should I surrender the OLD I-94 ? US custom is the one who issue the I-94 right?

US Immigration does not 'like' people border-hopping to renew their I-94. File an I-539 to extend her I-94

Us customs has nothing to do with it. You cannot just cross the border for am extension. You need to have her file an extension in the US ASAP. See an attorney.
