Logics dictates if one was apprehended selling alcohol to a minor, that person, I believe, will be cited for that. For that purpose your Illinois ID was taken down. This ticket, however, is a Chicago municipal violation that only has a fine (that is why you were not arrested, fingerprinted and processed) and has nothing to do with federal immigration laws. If, however, for one or another reason, for example a bench warrant is issued by any state or sheriff’s office, that warrant could be executed at any U.S. port of entry. That ordinance violation does not seem to be a criminal offense, only an administrative one, but, if you are cited, consult with a counsel for further options.

If your name is on the citation, it will create a record for you. If your name is not on the citation and have not been notified to appear, it would be difficult to assess how a record would be created against you in any system. Sincerely, Attorney Mitchell S.
