I am very sorry to hear about your daughter and grandchild's situation. Without more information, I cannot give a good answer to this question. If your daughter has legal custody over the child, then your daughter may be able to give you temporary guardianship over the child without concern for the child's father. If your daughter and the child's father still live together and have custody over the child, you may want to petition the court for guardianship and show that the parents have failed to properly care for the child. I recommend you review your situation with an attorney who can better assess your situation and the options that are available to you. Good luck!

You should consult a lawyer in Georgia. The Georgia Bar Association has a lawyer referral service. Please see the GA Bar's website at: http://www.gabar.org/ethics/lawyer_referral_service/ You can also look on www.martindale.com to locate an attorney in your area who can help you. Good luck to you and your family.
