Will becoming a stripper harm my chances at child custody?

Child Custody 2 views 2 answers
My husband left me and not even a week later moved his girlfriend into his and my childrens lives. I only work part time and am thinking of becoming a stripper so I have enough money to live on. I plan on only doing this on the days he has the children overnight. I wanted to know how this might affect future custody battles we will have. We have no formal custody agreement with the courts.

It will be a factor, but not necessarily a huge factor. Stripping is not illegal. Nor, quite frankly, is it immoral. Many young women have chosen this job to pay their bills and make extra money. While some may try to pain stripping as prostitution, it is not. However, I would not share this information with your ex unless it is absolutely necessary, nor would I lie about it if the question is specifically asked. (example: Do you work? Your answer is "Yes." not... Yes, I am a Stripper.) On the other hand, if you worked at McDonalds, Starbucks or in a lab curing cancer, I would advise you to answer the exact same way. Your business is your business, not his. Good luck.
