Who pays for ambulance service if child suffered head injury at school?

Son was sent out of the classroom w/ another student by teacher (classes already in session) and he collided with another student he fell was unconscious had a mild seizure and concussion and also impacted tooth. Dad was there getting ready to leave (he was there for a parent function that had just ended and was talking to another parent) he had to call 911 - he offered to take my son to ER but paramedics would not because my son could not remember what happened and it was a head injury. Is the school liable to pay for the ambulance charges?

That can be determined upon settlement of your case. You can sue the school and any other party that may be liable. Your attorney should discuss that with you. Good luck. Edward Ramsey, Esq. 8889 W. Olympic Blvd - Penthouse Beverly Hills, CA 90211 866-999-6640 www.lacitylaw.com

Generally speaking, the at-fault party will be responsible for the medical bills, including the ambulance. You should talk with an attorney to see if the school was negligent. Most attorneys will provide a consultation for free. Brian A. Carness, Esq. The school very likely has what is often referred to as MedPay of a sum, like $2,000 or $10,000 ad this is usually available for such an expense, as well as any follow up care, including dental.
