What happens after felony arrest for child support?

My daughters father will hopefully be arrested on a felony warrant for not paying child support which was issued by the attorney general. What will happen after he is arrested?
He'll go to jail, post a bond, and be released. Then the Attorney General will attempt over the course of the next year to extract as much money out of him as possible. In return, he'll get to stay out of jail and maybe get a reduced charge or a dismissal. Generally, a dismissal doesn't happen unless he pays the entire arrearage in full. I can't say with absolute certainty that this is how it will be handled, but 99% of this type of case that I'm personally aware of was handled in this manner. Good luck.
It is a matter of time before he is arrested on the warrant and brought before the Montcalm County Circuit Court. There are a multitude of possibilities with these cases. Much depends on whether he has the ability to pay the large sum of money that he owes in arrearages, if at all. He will spend some time in jail and may be able to buy his freedom with the condition that he keep paying to stay free. I'm aware of a previous case out of Montcalm where the individual was strapped with a felony conviction as part of his agreement with the AG. On that particular case he was arrested in another state and transported back to face the charges. The amount largely remains unpaid (approximately $17,000-20,000).
The problem that I see with these cases is that the father that has not paid the support will likely never be able to off the arrearage amounts.
If you are aware of any assets that the father has than you have legal rights to enforce the back support so it may be beneficial to speak with an attorney for help collecting on these unpaid sums of money.
