How much should I expect to receive for compensation in Massachusetts for a three to four inch facial scar?

While working one night I slipped due to a faulty grease trap which the owner knew was broken for at least three months. As a result I received a three or four inch cut on my left cheek starting below the eye and ending just above the jaw. It wasn't deep but there was significant scarring. The insurance company is sending someone to document the scar in order to determine the amount of compensation.
Honestly, I'd rather not have the scar. I feel like everyone is staring at me now or trying not to.
How much should I expect or ask them for. I know insurance companies try to pay out the bare minimum and all but as I was left disfigured and the scar is a source of constant shame and humiliation, I just don't want to be cheated.
Yours Sincerely,
Luca
Under the Massachusetts workers compensation statute it is Section 36 that controls scarring benefits. There are more factors that need to be factored in to the calculation.
(1) I've never had the insurance company's first calculations equal what I felt to be the fair final number.
(2) The attorney does not get a fee out of your scarring benefit. If there is a dispute that needs to be resolved by the Department of Industrial Accidents, the insurer pays, not you.
You need to consult with a workers compensation attorney if you are serious about optimizing your benefit.

It depends on numerous factors. A dangerous condition would need to be proven first obviously. If the person was a model such as Gisele Bundchen, the damages would be huge. A personal injury lawyer should be retained so you can get maximum compensation.
