I lost the pink sheet for my temporary license I was issued at my DUI arrest...

I cannot find the pink sheet given to me at the time of my dui arrest and I have not been arraigned yet, but I would like to apply for a restricted license once my 30 day suspension is up. The police confiscated my actual license so I'm not sure what to do....Do I need a lawyer to obtain another copy or is it even necessary to have?

That is your temporary license. Have you requested a DMV Hearing. You needed to do that within 10 days of arrest. That will put a stay on your suspension until you have the Hearing. If you didn't do that or don't intend to request the Hearing, you will need to go to the DMV to get your requirements to reinstate, which includes signing up for a class, obtaining an SR-22 and reinstatement fee. At the same time tell them you lost your temp. license and ask them to reissue another. In the immediate, I would suggest contacting a really competent DUI attorney in your area to see what can be done to assist you with your criminal case, even if it is too late for the DMV.

You don't need a lawyer to obtain a copy of your temporary license, but you should never represent yourself in any criminal matter. The DMV will mail you back your license. Your attorney can also represent you for your DMV administrative hearing. Don't wait for the arraignment to consult with an attorney. They can assist you with license issues and of course, all court proceedings.

Manny's answer covers the bases. You do need to get another copy of the temporary. They will print one out for you at any DMV office. If you are within ten days from the arrest, ask for a hearing. The DMV number listed on your pink sheet is: 916-657-0214. Even if you're a little late, an attorney may still be able to get you a hearing; it doesn't hurt to try. Good luck.

Bring some form of proper ID to DMV. A passpport or your birth certificate will probably suffice. They can give you a restricted license. You don't need a lawyer to help with this, but you should get one to handle the DUI in court.
